Meet Maher Andrawes R.D.T.

Maher Andrawes has been involved in the dental profession for 30 years. He is a third generation dental technologist who graduated in 1975 from the Dental Technology program in Cairo, Egypt.

Between 1975 - 1990, Maher managed and operated his family owned laboratory in Cairo. He received extensive training in 1980 where he graduated from the Vita Ceramics Institute in Germany. Since moving to Canada in 1990, he managed a large sized lab located in Toronto where he was in charge of all technical aspects and head of the cosmetic department.

In 1990 - 1993 Maher worked very closely with Denmat (Cerinate Of Canada) and was the Canadian representative. Maher became a Registered Dental Technologist in July 2000. Throughout his career he has always focused on continuing education programs and has stayed on top of the ever-changing technologies in restorative dentistry.

In 2000, Maher graduated from the Dawson Centre for advanced Dental Studies where he studied occlusion and function. Maher attended the Las Vegas Institute (LVI) in 2002 and graduated receiving extensive training in cosmetic dentistry and the all porcelain systems in today’s marketplace. For the past three years, Maher has also been a member of the American Academy Of Cosmetic Dentistry .

As owner and president of SmileTECH Dental Laboratory, Maher’s duties include day to day operations as well as managing the Cosmetic Department and overseeing quality control of the lab.

His after work, passions include his wife Manal and his son Rafik and spending time with friends fishing on his boat and hunting.
